A suspect has been taken into custody in connection with the theft of unreleased Beyoncé music—but the highly anticipated tracks remain missing, leaving fans and insiders frustrated.

Kelvin Evans was arrested on charges related to breaking into an SUV and stealing property linked to the 44-year-old superstar. The incident reportedly occurred months ago, ahead of Beyoncé’s recent Cowboy Carter tour stop in Atlanta, Georgia. The stolen property included hard drives containing unreleased music, footage, and plans for future performances.

According to police reports obtained by ABC News, law enforcement officers began investigating after two suitcases containing sensitive material went missing from a choreographer’s vehicle in July. The stolen items reportedly included detailed plans for Beyoncé’s shows, past and future setlists, and unreleased recordings that were meant to remain private until their official release.

Evans is now in Fulton County Jail, and authorities confirmed to TMZ that the hard drives containing the stolen music have not yet been recovered. Jail records show that Evans faces charges of entering a vehicle with intent to commit theft or a felony, as well as violating his parole. He is being held on a $20,000 bond following his booking by the Hapeville Police Department on August 26.

Evans’ criminal record spans more than two decades, with 37 prior bookings dating back to 2002. His past charges include aggravated assault, criminal trespass, writing bad checks, heroin possession, and multiple parole violations, painting a troubling picture of a repeat offender.

The Theft That Shook Beyoncé’s Team

The theft reportedly took place on July 8, just days before Beyoncé’s sold-out show at Mercedes-Benz Stadium. Authorities confirmed that a Jeep Wagoneer was broken into inside a parking deck at Krog Street Market around 8 p.m. Two suitcases were taken, containing items crucial to the singer’s team.

Police reports indicate that the break-in was caught on surveillance cameras, and investigators dusted the scene for fingerprints. The stolen items included not only hard drives with unreleased music, but also clothes, designer sunglasses, laptops, and a pair of AirPods Max headphones belonging to members of Beyoncé’s entourage.

According to WSB-TV, Christopher Grant and Diandre Blue were the first to report the crime, stating that someone had broken in through the vehicle’s back lift gate. An arrest warrant for the suspect was issued on July 14, though it would take several weeks before Evans was finally apprehended.

The incident sparked widespread concern among fans and industry insiders alike. Social media erupted with speculation, ranging from fears that the music might leak online to debates about security measures for high-profile performers. “It’s shocking that someone would target Beyoncé’s team in such a bold way,” one fan tweeted, echoing a sentiment shared across multiple platforms.

A Troubling Pattern for the Superstar

This is not the first time Beyoncé has fallen victim to theft. In March 2021, thieves reportedly broke into one of her Los Angeles storage units, making off with around $1 million in designer handbags, dresses, and personal items. TMZ reported that the stolen goods came from units rented by Beyoncé’s production company, Parkwood Entertainment, which were targeted twice that same month. Items included not only clothing and accessories but also toys and personal belongings connected to members of her team, showing that her circle has long been under threat from opportunistic criminals.

These incidents highlight ongoing security challenges faced by high-profile celebrities. Even with rigorous precautions, Beyoncé’s team has repeatedly found themselves targeted by thieves willing to go to great lengths to seize valuable or sensitive property.

Public Reaction and Uncertain Future

Fans and media outlets have expressed concern over the missing music, which remains unreleased despite the arrest. Industry insiders suggest that recovery may be complicated if the hard drives have been tampered with or copied, creating uncertainty around the release of the tracks. Meanwhile, Beyoncé’s representatives have remained largely silent on the matter, though the arrest of Evans is expected to provide at least some measure of reassurance.

Legal experts note that while Evans’ arrest is significant, recovering stolen property—especially digital files—presents a new set of challenges. The public, meanwhile, continues to speculate online about the possibility of leaks and the future of Beyoncé’s unreleased work.

For now, the focus remains on the investigation. Evans’ criminal history and the brazen nature of the theft have raised questions about how such incidents can be prevented in the future. Fans, however, remain hopeful that Beyoncé’s music will eventually see the light of day, secure and unspoiled, despite the turbulent path it has taken.
